On April 2 NAIOP WI partnered with Midwest Real Estate News for the 2015 Downtown Milwaukee Development Summit which was held at Potawatomi Convention Center. Over 225 attendees enjoyed our 1/2 day event which featured keynote speakers Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch and Alex Lasry of the Milwaukee Bucks. After a focused discussion by Richard Aaronson of Atlantic Realty regarding the 450 unit River House (former Gallun Tannery), Nancy Leary Haggerty of Michael Best & Friederich moderated a discussion on the Downtown Residential Boom with Phil Aiello, the Mandel Group, Todd Hutchison, Impact Seven, Stewart Wangard, Wangard Partners and Kalan Haywood, Vangard Group. The residential and mixed-use markets are BOOMING!

The event also showcased 833 East-Milwaukee’s newest signature Class A office building. An incredibly insightful discussion with Scott Welsh and Lyle Landowski of Colliers International, John Ford of Irgens and Glenn Roby of Kahler Slater and moderated by Steve Palec of Colliers. His reference to Milwaukee and Miller beer was pretty entertaining!
The day wrapped up just before lunch with a panel moderated by Corey Tremaine from Baker Tilly on Other Game Changing Projects in Milwaukee. After an update by Sandy Botcher of Northwestern Mutual on their new company headquarters and a discussion by Joe Klein of HKS Holdings on the MKE Lofts (Posner building), an in-depth update was provided by Matt Dorner of Milwaukee’s Downtown BID 21, Ghassan Korben with the City of Milwaukee and Tricia Braun of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation.
Very special THANK YOU to our event sponsors:
