Joaquin J. Altoro
Briefly tell us what you do:
I am the Vice President for Commercial Banking at Town Bank, A Wintrust Community Bank. I am actively involved with building the Town Bank brand in the Metro Milwaukee area. I opened our Milwaukee location nearly two years ago to help satisfy the need for urban community banking for business. It has been a whirlwind two years and I can proudly say that we have made great strides in gaining the respect of Milwaukee’s business community.
Which project do you love the most or are most proud of?
I am most proud of our investment into the revolving loan funds of Wisconsin’s ethnic chambers. We are excited for our partnership with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Wisconsin, African American Chamber of Commerce Wisconsin, American Indian Chamber of Commerce Wisconsin and the Hmong Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce. As the demographic of business owners throughout Wisconsin continues to evolve, we want to be at the forefront of this exciting growth.
Do you have a favorite author or quote? “Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power.” — Abraham Lincoln
What is your favorite restaurant?
This is probably the most difficult question of all. It’s like asking me if I have a favorite child. I would respond as such. Our new Milwaukee location is located in one of the hottest neighborhoods in the city. There are many new restaurants and become a beehive for more to come. I support and enjoy all of the restaurants in my neighborhood.
Tell us something most people don’t know about you?
I would consider myself a Tequila snob. I love to collect various high-end Tequilas and responsibly enjoy my collection!
What are your hobbies outside of work?
A majority of my time outside of work is spent with my family. We love to treat Milwaukee as our urban jungle. We have fun learning and discovering in the city I grew up in.
IPhone, Blackberry or Android phone?
Android is the language I speak.
