City of Brookfield – Economic Development Department
Briefly tell us what you do: I am currently working multiple part-time positions. For the Gateway to Milwaukee, I am the Special Project Manager coordinating a new Business Improvement District on South 13th Street and West Oklahoma Avenue. For the City of Brookfield, I am a staff member in the Economic Development Department. I also intern for WAM DC (Wisconsin Avenue Milwaukee Development Corp). These positions keep me fairly busy, but I am still searching for a full-time position in the Real Estate Development or Urban Planning fields.
Which project do you love the most or are most proud of? I’ve been privileged to be a part of a few special projects, but thus far I’d say the most intriguing opportunity I’ve had was to work on the City of Brookfield’s latest Capitol Drive Corridor Study. Although it is a product of the Department of Community Development, I believe it is a high-quality example of public and private partnership with community input and support – a strong model for thoughtful, appropriate planning.
Do you have a favorite author or quote? “You can sleep when you’re dead.” To me, that always meant that we should do the things we love with the people we love and enjoy every day.
What is your favorite restaurant? The Noble in Walker’s Point. I would recommend the Monday Brunch if you can swing it.
Tell us something most people don’t know about you? I am a retired rugby player. Not all the rugby stereotypes apply to me, but some definitely do.
What are your hobbies outside of work? Besides looking for a full-time career, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends doing all the great things Milwaukee has to offer. I also run a small clothing company, Wiskullsin, in my free time. It’s a fun little side project.
IPhone, Blackberry or Android phone? iPhone.
