As NAIOP Wisconsin approaches its 10 year anniversary, our Chapter, represented by a cross section of its leaders, came together to review, challenge, discuss, and ultimately update our Strategic Plan. Our Mission Statement has been refined in order to more accurately reflect our membership base and the meaning of our existence: NAIOP Wisconsin is the leading trade association representing commercial real estate developers, owners and investors. We provide strong advocacy, education and business opportunities and connect our members through a powerful network.
Our Strategic Planning effort was led by a committee generally comprised of the Chapter President, Executive Director and other key leaders. The process sought the candid input from a cross section of members holding both formal and informal leadership roles in the Chapter through a survey facilitated by Marc Selvitelli, a member of the NAIOP corporate team in Washington DC. The results of the survey were then utilized as the framework for active discussion during a half day retreat where 25 representative members debated and developed a list of three primary goals that will be used to drive the Chapter’s focus going forward:
- Membership Expansion and Retention. We will strive to increase developer membership in the Madison market with the hopes that the platform will expand into other areas of the state. We are NAIOP Wisconsin and our membership and advocacy is not limited to southeastern Wisconsin. We will also focus on achieving improved results with membership recruiting, retention and development, ensuring that our members receive the best possible membership experience.
- Advocacy. NAIOP Wisconsin will effectively advocate on behalf of the commercial real estate industry and leverage our experts as the go-to organization for information and advice concerning commercial real estate. We will also continue to raise our member’s level of involvement in the public policy arena as it relates to our industry.
- Marketing and Branding. As commercial real estate industry leaders, we will effectively market our resources to increase our recognition with the media, others in our industry, and the public sector, sharing our expertise and promoting the interests of commercial real estate.
Our members are genuinely committed to our organization and the commercial real estate industry. The sincere and active participation by those who contributed to the strategic planning process is much appreciated and has not gone unnoticed. The Board of Directors has adopted the updated mission statement, the primary goals and an action plan designed to ensure the successful implementation of the Strategic Plan. I encourage all members to embrace the action plan and continue to actively support and participate in the ongoing success of our professional organization.
